Our story

Two years in the open

From a nameless side project to coaching apps in both stores — every milestone that mattered, including the wrong turns.

The Build

JUN 2024 — FEB 2025

Nine months of code before anyone else saw it.

  1. Day one FIRST

The first lines of code. No name, no domain — just an idea about coaching people who aren't in the room.

  2. The domain: onlinefitness.app

The project gets its name, a month after the first line of code. Product first, brand second.

  3. First workout calendar prototype

The calendar shows up on day one of the named project — and never leaves. It is still the product's anchor.

  4. Installable on phones

Add it to your home screen: the first version that lived on a phone, long before the store apps existed.

  5. Exercises, programs, clients

The three things every coach needs — an exercise library, programs and a client list — land in a single October week.

  6. First video upload

Exercise demos go video-first: upload a clip once, and it plays inside every workout that uses it.

Private Beta

MAR 2025 — AUG 2025

First outsiders, first AI, first birthday.

  1. The workout calendar, rebuilt

The calendar-centred coach workflow ships in the shape it still has today.

    See the workout builder
  2. Coach–client chat

Conversations move into the product. Voice messages follow the same week.

  3. Private launch LAUNCH

First outside users are invited in — nine months of building before anyone else touched it.

  4. AI writes its first words FIRST

Exercise descriptions written by AI, right in the editor — the first AI feature a coach could actually see.

    What the AI does now
  5. One year

Twelve months in: a private beta, the first AI feature, and a product that finally looks like one.

  6. The assistant gets tools

The assistant starts doing, not just writing: it builds exercises and workouts, sends forms and reads feedback.

First Coaches

SEP 2025 — JAN 2026

Real trainers, real clients, real checkout.

  1. First coach onboarded FIRST

A real trainer starts using the product — and breaking it in ways we never predicted.

  2. New workout calendar for coaches

The planning screen gets its biggest rework yet.

    See the workout builder
  3. Billing, take one

Subscriptions and checkout, built in six days and live by December. Keep reading; this is not billing's last appearance.

  4. Mariia and Diana FIRST

Our first working coach–client pair. For the first time, the product is used exactly as designed.

  5. Coaches two and three

Gil and Kristina onboard within a week of each other.

  6. The marketing site splits out

OnlineFitness.app gets a proper website: home, blog, pricing, install.

Going Mobile

FEB 2026 — MAY 2026

Two stores, one app, first revenue.

  1. Submitted to both stores

The first native iPhone and Android apps go to App Store and Google Play review — the same day.

  2. iOS approved LAUNCH

Seven days from submission to the App Store.

    Get the app
  3. First paid customer FIRST

Johanna pays $375 — the first revenue after 22 months of building.

  4. Android approved LAUNCH

Both apps live — iPhone and Android, the same app on both.

The Pivot Summer

JUN 2026 — JUL 2026

Six weeks in the wrong direction — and what it taught us.

  1. The D2C pivot PIVOT

We point the product at coaching clients directly — and tear out billing, referrals and self-signup to move faster. Painful, useful.

  2. Funnels and password-free login

Quiz funnels for lead capture; passwords replaced with email codes. Both outlive the pivot that created them.

    How funnels work
  3. The MCP connector FIRST

AI assistants like Claude can drive a coach account directly — 125+ tools today.

    The MCP connector
  4. Two years — and funnels go live

Funnels go live for real coaches on the project's second birthday.

    How funnels work
  5. Back to B2B PIVOT

Six weeks of D2C taught us where the value is: the product serves coaches, and funnels now bring them clients. The wrong turn that fixed the strategy.

  6. The workout deck

Client workouts rebuilt as a full-screen, swipeable video deck.

The story continues

Today that means apps on iPhone and Android, a 40-chapter Handbook and a free plan for your first three clients. This page grows a new entry every time something worth telling ships.
